Winter Activities in the Treasure Valley
Bogus Basin is located, 16 miles NE of Boise Idaho, Bogus Basin is a ski recreational area. They have 7 operational chairlifts and a magic carpet for those who are learning to ski. They also have tubing, fat biking, snowshoeing and a lodge to warm up. Having a rental place for skis for all size and ages if you need to rent ranging from $3 to a seasonal lease package of $125 for an adult. Open 7 days a week from 9am to 10pm, you have plenty of time to take a fun trip up. You can pay for a half day pass or a full day, some trails shut at 4:30 due to the dangerousness of the trails at night.
Village in Meridian
Village in Meridian is located at the crossroads of Cloverdale and Eagle in Meridian. The village features many retail stores ranging from Victoria's secret to Pro image sports to Soma. They also feature restaurants such as La Creme Frozen Yogurt Cafe, Kona grill, Blaze pizza and more. The village in Meridian has a cinema and tickets and special seating areas for 21+. And a new feature called DBox that has seats that move along with the movie, as well as $5.30 Tuesday. During the winter time, they have their seasonal ice skating for only $7 or $2 on Tuesdays.
Idaho Sleigh Adventures
It's just as it sounds, sleigh rides in the snow, located an hour from Boise, Idaho taking Lowman to Garden Valley. The sleigh rides are $25 a person for a sleigh ride and complimentary drink, the rides last for about 40 minutes. You can also choose a lunch or a dinner option from $40-$60 with different options ranging from sloppy joe to a sirloin roast and dutch oven dinner. Seniors and children under 12 get a 20% discount, and children under 3 are free. During the months of January and February, they are open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
WarHawk Museum is located in, Nampa Idaho at 201 Municipal Way, open 6 days a week, Tuesday through Sunday. They have a permanent collection of planes such as P-51C Mustang, P-40N Warhawk, and many others. At times they do have visitor aircraft such as the TBM Avenger, T-28A Trojan, and many others always changing.There are museum tours, for groups and educational groups, just call two weeks ahead. If you become a member with them you save on membership prices and you get to fly in some WWII airplanes. General admission is $12, Seniors and Military are $10 and 12-5 are $5.
Idaho Discover Center
Idaho Discovery center is located, 131 W. Myrtle St, in downtown Boise, Idaho. They have permanent exhibitions and temporary exhibitions, all interactive for adults and kids.The focus of the discovery center is to promote and inspire people for their interest in science, technology, engineering, and math. They have a membership where your entrance fee is free or $7 on Sundays or $10 for adults and kids and $7 active military and veterans. The Discover center also has special nights called Adult night s21+, as well as activities for ages from 3-5.
Jump time is a trampoline park and has multiple locations located in, Boise, Meridian, Idaho falls and one being built in Nampa. The trampoline park features, trampolines, foam pits, slam dunk basketball, video games and some locations inflatables. This is great indoor fun, they have weekly specials, and open jumps during the week from 10 am to 11 pm 7 days a week. The days will vary based on the week, and you do need to sign a liability waiver. They also have a cafe, and special prices for groups of 4 for small snacks.
The Aquarium is an exciting place for fun interactive time for everyone, with over 250 species featured. They have a shark and stingray pool where you can feed and pet the animals, as well as other interactive exhibits where you can feed the fish. Prices for the Aquarium range from $4-$10 per person, they are open from 10 am to 6 pm every day except for Sunday when they open later at 12 pm. Some other Exhibits they have are the shark and puffer exhibit, amazon exhibit, reptiles that they will occasionally bring out to pet, amazing angel exhibit, bird, and shark nursery.
Idaho IceWorld, outdoor fun indoors, with 2 NHL regulation ice rinks(85"x200"), located 7072 S Eisenman Rd, Boise, ID 83716. With an Arcade and food court, and a shop to purchase hockey and figure skating items. They have a lot of specials like on Fridays bring in some can food and get free skate rentals. Though usually, the skates run from $7 for an adult and $3 for children, with classes for all ages.
The Springs in Idaho City
The hot springs located in Idaho City, 45 minutes from Boise Idaho, in the beautiful Boise National Forest. This a great getaway, and is $10 for children all day, or $16 for Adults all day. With the pass it includes pool, steam room, herbal tea or mineral water, spa amenities(shampoo, conditioner, sunscreen, etc.), and a private locker with hot showers with plush towels. They also have private hot tubs at different rates, as well as messages, and an option for overnight stays.
Eagle Island State Park
Eagle Island State Park is a great place close to home to do some outdoor recreational activities. Such as tubing(tubes included), skiing and snowboarding(there are rentals for snowboards), and a magic carpet as well. This is wonderful to take the family out, or a group of friends to tube down varying lengths of slopes.Open from 3pm-8-pm Monday through Friday and from 10 am - 8 pm on weekends and holidays(see website for more details). The day passes are $15 per person and $199 for a season pass.
