What Kind of Shopping Center & Malls are in the Treasure Valley

For a lot of people, shopping is not just something they need to do every few weeks to make sure the pantry is fully stocked, but also something they do as a hobby. But, whether you do it out of necessity, for the social aspect of it, or for some sort of retail therapy, it is important to know what kind of options you have in your area for better deals, or just for a better time. In Boise and the surrounding Treasure Valley, there are many awesome places to shop, including downtown Boise, most of Fairview Avenue from Boise into Nampa, and so on and so forth. However, there are four large shopping centers that are perfect for people who want to get the most shopping done while only traveling the shortest distance possible. The Karcher Mall

One of the Treasure Valley's oldest malls, the Karcher Mall has been around since the mid 1960's. It is located off of Karcher Road in Nampa, Idaho and serves the western part of the Treasure Valley (Caldwell, Nampa, Middleton, etc).

In the Karcher mall you will find such stores as Burlington Coat Factory, Joann, Macy's Clearance, Claire's, and GNC, as well as many other great companies. There are also many restaurants and even an arcade that you can take advantage of.

Boise Towne Square Mall

The Boise Towne Square Mall is probably the most well established indoor mall in the Treasure Valley. It is a great place to go shopping, get a bite to eat, and even get pampered. It is a two story mall located in the area of town known as the Boise Bench (the geographical center of Boise) off between Milwaukee Street and Cole Road off of Franklin Road - there are also entrances off of Emerald Street.

The Boise Towne Square Mall has 5 anchor tenants (large permanent stores): Macy's, JCPenney, Sears, Kohl's, and Dillard's as well as 150+ other shops, kiosks, restaurants, and brand name stores within its walls. Some of the more popular stores that can be found in the Towne Square Mall are Hot Topic, The GAP, Build-a-Bear, H&M, and many more. There are also some specialty stores for games, travel things, and even shaving. You can even get a haircut or salon style treatments while you are there. Or even get skin care advice from some of the great professionals in the department stores specialty shops.

If you are hungry while you shop, you can always stop by the food court that has popular fast food places like McDonalds, Panda Express, Blimpy, Orange Julius, and much more. They also have specialty places like Mongolian Barbecue, or snack places like Wetzel's Pretzels.

Furniture Row

Now, if you are looking for a place to get quality furniture and mattresses, then Furniture Row is the perfect place for you. It is not like a traditional mall, nor is it like an outdoor mall, but it is a strip mall with many great things to offer. Furniture row is actually located just outside of the Boise Towne Square Mall on the corner of Franklin Road and Cole.

At Furniture Row you will find great stores like Denver Mattress, Sofa Mart, and even Bedroom Expressions. With these three great stores you can easily decorate your home with the best furniture to give it that friendly atmosphere you have always dreamed of. If you get hungry while shopping at Furniture Row, you can always go across the street to the many great restaurants that are available.

The Village at Meridian

The Village at Meridian is one of the newest shopping centers in the Treasure Valley. It was built in 2011 and 2012 and sits on the corner of Fairview Avenue and Eagle Road (the border between Boise and Meridian). It is a massive shopping center that is home to hundreds of shops, restaurants, and brand name stores, some of which are world class and have few other locations in the world.

The Village at Meridian (commonly known as the Village) is a great place for people to shop and to hang out. The architecture and design of the Village is meant to look and feel like an old European city center making it a comfortable and friendly place to just enjoy yourself, pick up a few items, and maybe grab a bit to eat.

However, the Village is not just places to shop, there are also dozens of other reasons to spend an afternoon or evening there. For instance, during the warmer months, there is a small mini golf green in the center courtyard as well as a show fountain that has awesome water and light shows every hour. Not to mention there is a great bowling alley/ arcade and movie theater in the Village as well.

So, there you have it, four of the Treasure Valley's most popular and versatile shopping centers. With these four places on your list of places to shop, you will always be able to get what you need and have a good time while you are at it.
